As a member of the Mills Laboratory, I study the development of the healthy term infant microbiome. My current research is focused on the importance of breastfeeding to enabling infant colonization with Bifidobacterium and on the potential for Bifidobacterium to reduce the levels of antimicrobial resistance genes in the infant gut microbiome.
