The Future of Medicine is Functional
Functional medicine is a systems biology-based approach to treating chronic disease. It is a more holistic approach to medicine, and focuses on identifying the root cause of physiological disorder and treating it in the most effective way, allowing doctors who use this framework to treat the "untreatable" and reverse chronic disease in patients with complex issues. Using the foundations of nutrition, a balanced microbiome, physical activity, detoxification of system disrupting molecules, hormones, and mental health management, functional medicine has the potential to work wonders in reviving health and promoting true healing. In many models, it is more financially sustainable and minimizes medical dependency with regards to pharmaceutical drugs.
Join us on February 1, 2020 for the Functional Medicine Conference at UC Davis to learn from medical practitioner speakers who apply functional medicine in their practices.
Learning Objectives
- Discuss what functional medicine is and how to directly apply its fundamental concepts to promote healthy lifestyles
- Provide information to pre-health students, medical students, residents, and future healthcare providers about functional medicine and how they can directly apply it in their health studies and future practices.
